The Circle of Giving

We believe in giving back to those who give so much. Through Homes for Heroes, we partner with local real estate experts to help heroes buy, sell, or refinance with exclusive savings.

But it doesn’t stop there. A portion of every transaction goes back to the Homes for Heroes Foundation, supporting heroes in need.

It’s a true circle of giving—you save, your community grows stronger, and heroes everywhere benefit.

Frequently asked questions

Who quailifes for hero savings?

What are the requirements to receive the savings offered?

It’s simple, there are just two things:

You’re serving now, or you’ve served, as one of our community heroes.
You buy, sell, or refinance your home with one of our local Homes for Heroes real estate or mortgage specialists.

That’s it. No red tape. No hidden fees. No catch, just real savings as our way of saying thank you.

What do I save if I work with Homes for Heroes real estate specialist?

When you buy or sell a home with a Homes for Heroes real estate specialist, you’ll get a Hero Rewards check after closing.

That check equals 0.7% of your home price — about $700 for every $100,000. On average, heroes save around $2,300.

And the best part? That money comes straight from Homes for Heroes and goes right back in your pocket to help with whatever you need for your new place.

Do I need to use all of your specialists to receive the savings?

Maximize Your Savings

You don’t have to work with every specialist in our program, but here’s the deal: each one you do work with adds to your savings.

Most heroes don’t want to leave money on the table, so they choose to team up with as many of our local specialists as possible. That way, they get the full benefit of the Hero Rewards program.

What is the average savings?

On average, heroes save about $3,000 when they buy or sell a home through Homes for Heroes, and around $6,000 when they do both.

Here’s how it breaks down:

Real Estate Specialist – Average savings of $2,300 per purchase or sale.

Mortgage Specialist – About $500 off lender fees.

Title Specialist – Around $150 in savings.

Home Inspection Specialist – Typically saves you another $50.

Every part of the process adds up, and those savings go right back in your pocket.

Does Homes for Heroes offer down payment assistance?

Homes for Heroes doesn’t provide funds for a down payment. But here’s the good news, we’ll help you find out if you qualify for federal, state, or local down payment assistance programs.

And if you do qualify, those savings come on top of the rewards you already get through Homes for Heroes.

Does Homes for Heroes offer grants?

Kind of — but not exactly. The savings you get through Homes for Heroes are yours to keep and never have to be paid back, just like a grant. We just don’t call it that.

When we say “grant,” we’re talking about the Homes for Heroes Foundation. That’s where a portion of every transaction goes to help fund grants for organizations that support heroes in need.

So when you save, you’re also helping other heroes in your community.
